STAY ACTIVE, STAY FRESH

EDITOR, PHIJAMA

Attending a festival, more especially attending PHIJAMA, is like doing a triathlon. When dancing under the sun and the moon, you burn many calories... but more things happen in your body during a festival than you realize.

  • You lose electrolytes – especially sodium and potassium. Dancing causes dehydration if you’re not careful. We all know that. But losing electrolytes has a serious impact, such as, the imbalance of electrolytes putting a heavy pressure on the body.

  • Sleep deprivation makes your mind go turbulent A 2015 study found out that sleep deprivation has its toll on the mind as well as the body. It has been linked to emotional fluctuations. Be careful not to go borderline on people.

  • You experience short term hearing loss. We are not necessarily fans of this fact (but here you go)-we need your ears as sharp as possible to melt into the rhythm.

These are only the tip of the iceberg. Taking care of your body is truly important if you want to have a good time at a festival. This is why we have carefully selected activities for you to refresh your body and soul.

Feeling exhausted?

Well, why not rejuvenate with a sweaty yoga or pilates session- it sure will make you sweat out all of the toxins in your body.

Met a new group and want to have a good time?

Why not sign your name up for some beach volleyball. Sport competitions are where you truly get to know people.

Want to look at something pretty while taking a little breather?

Come watch our fireworks show. You won’t regret it.
